A Day at the Park:

Top 5 reasons we like the parks in New Mexico better than Utah:
1. Sand instead of Wood Chips- who was the genius that thought of wood chips???
2. Metal slides are faster than plastic- weeeee!
3. Actual swings! Why do the parks near my house not have swings???
4. It's not snowing here, so we can play outside. Ha ha!
5. There aren't a billion kids there.
Christian had fun at the park today. I just wish it was within walking distance!

Easter

I kept forgetting about Easter all week, but at least Nana made sure the kids had new outfits, and Christian isn't picky- as long as he can eat candy.
Bunky has a blast hunting eggs this year. We kept hiding them when he would turn his back, so it seemed like there were a lot to find. We painted eggs too and that was fun. Christian just can't resist painting his nose... he was very proud.
We are grateful for the Easter season... I even made it to church on time. (Jason was still in the shower when I left, but we won't mention that). My faith is wavering lately, but I am grateful for the gospel, and the strong roots I was raised with always seem to anchor me back to my love for our Savior.
I am so grateful for my family and all that they do for us. I have faith that families are forever.

Bag Tag:

Okay, so I HATE things like chain letters, "pass it on or you will die" e-mails, and forwards. So Jenny, knowing this, you have to realize how much I love you because I am responding to your bag tag. The rules I was given are:
1. Take a picture of your bag.
2. Show a picture of all the contents in your bag,
then name them. NO CLEANING OUT FIRST!
3. "Bag Tag" 5 to 10 people
4. Leave a comment on their Blog that says, "You've been Bag Tagged!"
I will do the first 2, but refuse to pass it on. I do encourage anyone who wants to do it to feel free, it is quite revealing.
Okay- I have a purse I take when I am alone, and a diaper bag for when I have the kids. I never pay more than $10.00 for a bag.... thank you Wal-Mart.
As you can see, I LOVE coupons! LOVE THEM! But, I forget to use them half of the time. So I always have a bunch of expired coupons in my purse.
Some items that make people not want to borrow my chap-stick:
Used nursing pad, and dirty diaper. I don't have any chap-stick anyway so I guess I will keep the diaper incase I am mugged, then I can throw it in my assailants face.
My favorite item is the Hooter Hider. It is like a superhero cape for nursing Moms. Anyway, if anyone has any great coupons to pass on, let me know!

New Look

Doesn't my blog look great?? Thank you Megan for the instructions... it took me 2 days to figure out, but it is worth it! Now it feels more personal and scrapbooky. (Is that a word?)

Sleeping Cutie!

Owen keeps falling asleep in his little rocker with his hands up in the air. I don't know if the movement makes him feel like he is falling or what.
He is such a good sleeper! He wakes up on average every 3 hours during the night, but a couple of nights he has had a 5 hour stretch. He is such a good little boy, we are so blessed to have such a sweet baby in our home. (especially with such rotten parents!)

Ugly Baby Photo:

L
ike most Moms, I think my kid is really cute (AKA the cutest human being to ever be on the earth). But man, Owen makes the UGLIEST face when he is mad. Can you believe my sweet little guy can make such a rotten face?
Owen is feeling much better, thank you everyone for your concern!

Poor Owen!

Little Owen has a cold. Christian was like a year old before he ever got sick so I am a little sad. I guess that is what happens when you have older kids. Hopefully it is just a 24 hour thing and he will get feeling better tomorrow.

The UPS Man:

I have had requests for baby pictures of the UPS man. Although it was a bit awkward, I contacted him after nine months of not speaking to him, and got a baby photo. I still think Owen looks more like me.

Look- alikes

Okay people, I am a little upset that I am the only person who has voted for myself in the looking like Owen poll. After all, we are two of the cutest people that I know. I don't have many baby pictures on my computer, but I found one that may help all of you confused voters out there. I know, I know, I am a bit more crossed-eyed and my second chin is more prominent, but you can get the main idea. Actually, this picture of Owen was taken quite a few days ago, he is getting much more of a second chin going on. Okay... now you can vote!

Geo Trax Addiction

Christian loves his Geo Trax. Daddy loves them even more. Papa came to town and spent a night driving around looking for more Geo Trax. It is the Daddy addiction. I must admit, Jason is getting really good at making cool tracks. This was his first with the elevation pack. Maybe he should be an engineer.

Owen's Blessing:

Owen had such a wonderful blessing last Sunday. I was so overjoyed to have all of the family at our home to celebrate with us. It was so neat to see all of the priesthood holders in our family (and ward family) surround our little boy while Jason gave him a blessing.
We ended up fasting for my Dad, and also broke our fast that night. My Aunts and Cousins were so sweet and called us Saturday and asked if they could bring us dinner. They catered a huge delicious meal for everyone. It was so wonderful, I can't even tell you how much we all appreciated it. I am humbled to have so many people love us and be concerned about our family.
Thank you everyone who came out to our house. We love all of you!

Baby Shower

My wonderful friends in primary (the 2 hotties on the right) threw me a baby shower last Saturday. It was so fun to sit and chat and show off Owen. I am really grateful to have friends in the ward who are so kind and generous. I know that showers for second babies are very rare, and I was excited to have so many people come out and support me. Plus, the food was really yummy!

Christian's Birthday:

Our little Bob the Builder had a fun Birthday. His favorite present was his new garbage truck from Jace. We were so grateful to have our immediate family there to celebrate. Thank you everyone for all of the nice gifts.
Christian is such a joy to us, I don't know what I would do without all of his help around the house... Clark would starve for sure because Christian is always filling his food bowl when I forget. We love you Christian!

More Bad Parenting...

I loathe bending over the bed and changing diapers... I am fairly tall, and it kills my back. So I emptied Jason's underwear drawer and made a little changing table. I love it! It is the perfect height, it can be hidden when not in use, and it has ample storage space. It creeps everyone else out, and I am the only one who will use it. Even Jason, who is taller than me, doesn't like it for some reason. I just think it is so convenient to shove him the the drawer when he starts to pee on me (that is a joke, he is much to big to fit in the drawer). Plus, I think he likes it!

Bad Parenting!

I am really behind on posting, and a lot of pictures that have been taken this last week are on my Dad's camera, so it might be a while before I get caught up.
Anyway, this is the tag on my favorite baby item, the Boppy. It makes it quite clear not to let your child sleep on it. I know it is naughty, but Owen LOVES to sleep on it. He always sleeps longer when we have him in the Boppy, plus I can just slide him over after he eats. I guess I am just a bad Mother!

Happy Birthday Christian!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHRISTIAN!!!
Bunky is so excited for his birthday. He came in my bedroom this morning and told me it was his birthday and asked if I would sing the birthdays song for him (which he has been obsessed with since his friend Katelyn's party). I am obsessed with dressing up every year, which really confuses people when it comes to remembering what my kids dress up as for halloween. I made a pirate costume for his first birthday, and found a race costume for $8 last year. This year he wanted a Bob the Builder party, so we will reuse the Halloween costume form last fall. It should be fun fun fun! He sure has grown. We are so blessed to have such a sweet boy in our family. I wish he could stay little forever, but it is also fun to watch him grow and learn. Happy Birthday my big boy!

So tired!

Christian fell asleep in the car the other day holding his froggy boots. Good thing he was already in his jammies.

Don't you wish we could all look this good with a double chin??

SMILE!

Don't you just love when little boys smile so big that you can't even see their eyes??
Christian is doing SO GOOD with the baby. He helps Mommy when Owen is crying, and is really patient. I am so blessed to have such sweet boys. (And it doesn't hurt to have Nana here to help).

Baby update...

I just wanted to update everyone: Owen is doing good. He might have acid reflux, so we are going to watch it for a few days and if it doesn't get better, put him on some medication. The pee problem might just be a reaction with his diapers, we are going to keep an eye on that too. I hated taking him to the dr.'s office today with all of the sick people! I took him into the sick baby room and this lady came in with her four rambunctious older kids who were obsessed with babies and kept getting in his face. Needless to say, I was a bit annoyed. Hopefully all will be well and we can all get some sleep!
Jason just said that Owen has my personality because he is always grumpy. Hey... you would be grumpy too if your boobs went from a B cup to a triple D. It is VERY painful.... Anyone need a wet nurse?? (For a baby, not a perverted adult- yes, gross but true.)
Oh and by the way... thanks everyone for the nice comments! We love to share our happiness with everyone!

Welcome Baby Owen!

He's Here! I finally had Owen on the 23rd. Besides a bit of an epidural problem (AKA, I thought I was going to die) The labor and delivery went great. He weighed 7 lbs. 5 oz and is 21 inches long. He has a lot of dark hair, so the 4 of you who thought it would be peach fuzz were wrong.
He is having some pee and vomit problems, so I am taking him to the doctor today. Hopefully everything is okay.
Anyway, we are excited he is here and that we are home. He is a sweet little boy and we already love him more than we could ever imagine.

Full Moon

The phone rang at 11:30 last night and it was the nurse at the hospital. She just wanted to let me know that they probably can't induce me today because they had "an influx of patients" come in yesterday and there are no rooms left. So, I can call today and see if anyone has been discharged, but otherwise, I guess I have to wait for tomorrow. This really sucks. I can't sleep and have been up since 4:30 this morning just wandering around the house worrying and wondering if I should call the hospital early to plan my day. I looked at the calendar, and noticed it said that there was a full moon lat night. My baby must not be affected much by the pull of the moon because I am still here at home. I think that about explains it. Well, wish me luck.

A Little Note on Hospital Visits.

THis is NOT Owen, so don't freak out. This is just a picture of Christian when he was born illustrating how I feel when people come uninvited to the hospital:

No really, I realize that when most women have babies everyone and their dog comes for a visit. In my case, your dog is invited, but not you. I do NOT feel comfortable after pushing a baby out having people in the room. Why you ask?? I will give you a list (WARNING: I have strong opinions on this matter that my husband does NOT agree with, but he has never been sick before, so go figure):
-Did you know that they fill a rubber glove with ice and stick it between your legs? Yeah, try getting up and going to the bathroom with that hanging in your panties (along with a mattress- sized maxi pad, two types of cream, and tucks pads); add a room full of men... uh yeah.
-Hospital gowns open in the back. Once again making a "getting up in front of people" problem.
-Newborns need to be breast fed every 1.5-2 hours. If you arrive in the hospital room an hour and a half after I last fed the baby, you have 5 minutes to get out.
-After an epidural, you can't walk very good. So unless you want to empty my bed pan for me... you better stay away so I have some time to get to the potty.
-99.9% of people forget the mom is there. Oh what?? You have been hauling a fetus around for 9 months and now you want to hold it? But, I came to visit, so I will sit here holding your hard work while you suffer. AT LEAST BRING ME A TREAT! (Flowers are NOT a treat). Eclairs, fruit tarts and other chocolate items are welcome. While I eat the treat you can hold the baby. Deal?? Great! The last time I had a baby, people brought Jason's favorite treats and conveniently forgot about the person who labored for over 6 hours after fasting. Rude.
-After pushing for over an hour (possibly more) a girl doesn't look her best. And no, there is no make-up in my hospital suitcase.
-Why is it that people want to visit you in the hospital, but not at home when you need help? For heavens sake, wait a few weeks and come visit when I need a nap.
-People love to bring their children. Really, I love kids. I just don't like their grubby little hands touching my newborn. What?? Your 3 year old wants to hold the baby. He will be careful? NO! Have your own baby, then your toddler can take pictures holding your most prized possession.
-I can actually think of many more, but I don't want this post to be too wordsy:).
Anyway, you know who you are if you are invited because I will personally call you and be very specific about the room number I am in. Other than that, I love you, but just give me some time. Oh and for those who are invited, don't bring flowers. I am allergic, they cannot be eaten, and they are a pain to take home.
Wish me luck (if you are not too offended and are still speaking to me).

Our Lil' Jack Lalanne

Isn't Christian a cute little Juiceman?? Christians new favorite hobby is juicing with Jason. He will even drink the result. I couldn't believe my ears the other day when (after juicing yams) he said: "Yummy juice daddy!" At least he has one healthy habit. He has been feeling much better by the way. No throwing up last night! Yea!

Vomit.

Why oh why do little boys decide to throw up all night 4 days before mommy has a baby??? Poor Bunky can't even keep water down. I did 2 loads of sheets in the middle of the night because he just keeps throwing up. So if anyone has any suggestions, let me know. Oh, and to top it off, he fell out of bed last night and got a bloody nose too, then threw all of the blood up. He has never fallen out of his bed before. It is so weird that everything happens all at once. I am trying to teach him to throw up IN a bowl, but he just thinks I am being weird. Well, I better get off the internet and go snuggle the poor little guy. I hope everything calms down by Friday! Eeeekkkk!
